Time slots in Urbantz allow you to manage delivery schedules efficiently. They can be configured by hub or distribution centre, fleet, and associated available capacity.
Please go To Administration > Time slot Configuration to access the page.
In this section, you can:
Define time slots for specific weekday(s) for a specific hub
Define the start and the end of a time window
Add a vehicle
Define the cutoff time. If added, it will only be possible to reserve a time slot within the cutoff time set for that specific time slot. Be mindful that the cutoff time now accepts both positive and negative values, as seen in the picture below.
In addition, you can also limit a time slot to authorized zip codes and zones.
And ultimately, dates can be blocked. With this option, certain days can be blocked to add exceptions to time slots. When blocking dates: your capacity will be set to 0 on the selected days and task assignment won't be possible.
Copying time slots from another hub
This functionality allows users to copy time slots from one hub to another. This feature is available both during the creation of a new hub and on the Time Slot configuration screen.
On hub creation
When creating a new hub, the user can choose to “Copy the time slots from [hub dropdown]”. If the hub is a duplicate, the original hub is preselected in the dropdown. Otherwise, the user must manually select a hub. If the checkbox is selected, selecting a hub becomes mandatory. If the checkbox is unchecked, the hub dropdown is disabled.
When the user creates the hub, all the time slot configurations as of the current date will be copied to the new hub.
Import timeslots from another hub
On the Time Slot configuration screen, the “Import from” option is located in the Options menu (above “Delete all time slots”). When the user clicks this button, a dialog box opens, allowing them to select another hub with an existing time slot configuration and specify a starting date. Only hubs that the user has access to will be listed in the dropdown menu. To proceed, the user must select both a hub and a starting date.
Importing time slots from another hub will overwrite the existing configuration starting from the selected date. This action is permitted only if no tasks or reservations are scheduled in the time slots that would be overwritten.
For any questions on the functionalities above please reach out to your Customer Success Manager, respectively to the Support team for details.
FAQ
Q: I announced a task for a planning flow with a time window containing a date and time. Yet on the platform, it appears without a date or time.
A: When announcing a task, one must ensure that the time window of the task matches one of the existing time slots for that given date. Otherwise, the date and time will not be processed.
Another reason why the time window was not processed can be that the task was announced with both a time window and a reservation ID. Only one of these will be used when announcing the task or the time window will not be processed correctly.
