The new Resource Planning module is set to replace the current Fleet Assignation functionality in Optimisations and introduce new capabilities—most notably, a calendar feature and granular permissions.
With Resource Planning, you can schedule vehicles and drivers' availability on a daily basis, enabling advanced planning and better resource visibility. All previous features, such as preset rounds and virtual fleet for instance, are retained to ensure a seamless transition.
Once Resource Planning becomes available on your platform, you can begin setting up schedules without affecting daily operations. The module will be accessible but will not impact optimizations until you choose to activate it. Each platform will have up to one month to enable it at their discretion. After this period, the transition will be automatic, and the current Fleet configuration will no longer be available.
Note: This new module does not impact the API or any integration with Urbantz.
Below is a step-by-step guide on how to enable Resource Planning.
Resource Planning Access
When Resource Planning is enabled, you will see a banner inside Admistration > Optimisations > Fleet Assignation tab, inviting you to try it.
You can also access Resource Planning directly from the menu, positioned above Optimisations.
The first time you open the Resource Planning screen, you will be greeted with a short introduction to the new functionality and next steps.
To facilitate a smooth transition, the current fleet configuration from your Optimizations will be automatically copied. This allows you to start planning without having to configure everything from scratch.
At this stage, changes made in Resource Planning won’t impact your Optimization settings yet, allowing you time to refine your planning and train your team.
⚠️ Important: The configurations in Resource Planning and Optimization Fleet are not synchronized. Any change made in one will not automatically update the other.
As long as Resource Planning is not yet enabled, a banner will be displayed as a reminder.
Enabling Resource Planning
Once you’re ready to start using Resource Planning, you can enable it in the Platform Configuration:
-
Navigate to Administration > Platform > General.
-
Locate the “Resource Management” section.
-
Toggle “Use the Resource planning for optimisations” to ON.
-
Click Save to apply the changes.
After enabling Resource Planning, a confirmation banner will appear above the Resource Planning configuration screen, indicating that it has been successfully activated.
Fleet Assignation in Optimization
Even after enabling Resource Planning, the Fleet Assignation section in Optimization will still be accessible for consultation only. A banner will remind you that this configuration is no longer used, encouraging you to switch to Resource Planning.
If you attempt to modify the old Fleet Assignation settings, you will be asked to acknowledge that these changes will not affect optimization and decide whether to proceed.
Automatic migration
Each platform has one month to complete the migration to Resource Planning. The deadline is clearly displayed in the banner above the Fleet Assignation.
⏳ After the deadline, all platforms will be automatically switched to Resource Planning, and the old Fleet configuration will no longer be available.
