Steps to set up a new carrier
1. Activation of the feature
To begin using the associated platforms feature, you must contact your Customer Success Management (CSM) for activation.
2. Managing associated platforms
Once the feature is activated, you can add, edit, and remove associated platforms independently.
To add a new associated platform, a user with the Platform Manager role can navigate to:
Admin > Platform > General > Association > Create a new associated platform
Note: Hubs can also be assigned to a carrier directly from the Hub page.
3. Configuring carrier permissions
The Owner Platform allows for independent configuration of each carrier, including specific permissions and restrictions regarding hubs. The following settings are currently available:
-
Closure time modification :
-
The carrier can change the tasks' closure time: If enabled, the carrier will have the ability to modify the closure time of the tasks. Please note that by default, this option is disabled to prevent unauthorized alterations of actual delivery times.
-
-
Round creation:
-
If activated, the carrier is granted the responsibility of optimizing and creating delivery rounds. Important considerations include:
-
Task details cannot be edited by the associated platform as they are solely responsible for executing deliveries
-
Hubs and time slots are sourced from the Owner Platform
-
Drivers and vehicles used in deliveries are managed by the associated platform
-
-
-
Using an external Carrier API:
-
Use as an external carrier: This option allows a carrier to utilize external APIs and operate independently of Urbantz's round management system.
-
-
Custom Integration Mapper:
-
Use a custom integration mapper for the external carrier: This feature allows the carrier to send statuses that can be mapped to Urbantz statuses.
-
4. Notification upon creation
Once the associated platform has been successfully created, the carrier will receive an email notification prompting them to log in.
5. Carrier activation confirmation
After configuration and training, you must confirm the list of carriers to be activated with your CSM. Although there may be multiple carriers created, only a select few may be active.
To activate carriers, please contact your CSM.
6. Configuration replication
The setting “Replicate the configuration” is typically enabled to maintain consistency between the Owner Platform and associated platforms. This feature ensures that any updates made to configurations in the Owner Platform are replicated to the associated platforms.

What happens if metadata is deleted from associated platforms but remains in the Owner Platform?
-
If the toggle is ON, any changes made in the Owner Platform will synchronize with the associated platform. Deletions in the associated platform will not prevent the metadata from reappearing upon subsequent updates from the Owner Platform.
-
Important considerations
-
The Owner Platform cannot modify rounds created by the associated platform, but it can monitor the task progress and view the driver information.
-
Branding and notifications are inherited from the Owner Platform's configuration.
