This article explains what the Onsite feature is, how it works and how to benefit from its functionalities.
Content:
What is the Onsite Feature?
The Onsite feature is a functionality of the Urbantz application designed to verify whether the driver is at the correct delivery location at the time of delivery. It captures the GPS position and timestamp at the moment of arrival, helping reduce failed deliveries by ensuring precise location matching.
Setup
You can configure the Onsite feature per delivery flow via: Administration → Flow Settings → Requires tab
The feature can be enabled or disabled according to your operational requirements.
Business Benefits
Operational Efficiency
- Fewer failed deliveries;
- Improved delivery accuracy;
- Stronger proof of delivery documentation
Quality Control
- Enhanced delivery validation
- Increased customer satisfaction
Increased driver accountability
How It Works
The system automatically checks the driver's GPS position during delivery attempts, using a 250-meter tolerance threshold. If the driver is outside this range, a warning appears on the driver mobile app if he tried to deliver the task outside of the threshold.
For example, when the driver is in fact at the correct location but the address provided in the task details is not correct, drivers can still proceed with the delivery by selecting either “My Current Location is the Correct Address” or “Continue Anyway”. The option chosen will determine how the delivery is recorded and reflected in the reporting section. For more details, see bellow under OnSite Data Visibility & Reporting.
Onsite Data Visibility & Reporting
Following the round completion, the onsite data can be displayed in dedicated columns within the task list.
-
Onsite Forced:
- Shows “No” when the location matches the expected coordinates or when his mobile GPS is unavailable. In such situations, the driver is not prompted with the onsite pop-up.
- Shows “Yes” when the driver's location did not match the expected coordinates and the driver selected either “My Current Location is the Correct Address” or “Continue Anyway.”
-
Onsite Address Validated:
- Shows “Yes” when the driver’s location did not match the expected coordinates, and the driver selected “My Current Location is the Correct Address.”
- Shows “No” when the location did not match the expected coordinates and the driver selected “Continue Anyway.”
You can also view Onsite data at the task level. Within the task details under the Extra section, Onsite verification information is clearly displayed. An "X" indicates “No”, while a check mark indicates “Yes.”
Conclusion
By implementing the Urbantz Onsite feature, delivery operations gain a powerful tool to boost location accuracy, reduce failed deliveries, and unlock rich data insights—driving continuous improvement in last-mile logistics performance.
