The Urbantz mobile app provides drivers with flexible break management capabilities to help track working hours and ensure compliance with labor regulations. Here's how to use breaks effectively in the mobile app.
Taking Breaks During Your Workday
Starting and Managing Breaks:
- Open the mobile app and navigate to "My Mission"
- To take a break, click the pause symbol at the top of the screen
- You can take breaks as needed throughout your workday
- When ready to resume work, click the pause button again to end your break
- The app will show a pop-up if you try to deliver parcels while on break, reminding you that work shouldn't be performed during breaks
Privacy Protection: The system automatically disables geo-location tracking during breaks to respect driver privacy.
Driver Timesheet
Daily Time Tracking:
- Click the play symbol to start your workday when you begin
- Use the pause symbol for breaks throughout the day
- Click stop to finish your workday (this action cannot be undone)
- Your working hours are automatically tracked and can be retrieved by administrators via API calls
Scheduled Breaks
Automatic Break Notifications: When breaks are configured in the platform, the mobile app will notify you when it's time to take a scheduled break. These breaks appear as stops in your route but don't require any action - they're automatically included in your timeline.
Break Types:
- Time-based breaks: Scheduled for specific time windows (e.g., lunch break between 12:00-14:00)
- Work duration breaks: Triggered after working a certain number of hours (e.g., 15-minute break after 4.5 hours of work)
The break functionality helps ensure compliance with labor regulations while giving you the flexibility to manage your work schedule effectively.
