1. The general way of working
To do bulk updates on tasks go to the task tab and click on “bulk update” in the top bar.
The first step of a bulk update is defining the tasks that will be impacted. You can either apply an update on a selection of tasks that you made in the task list, prior to clicking on “Bulk update” or you can enter a list of task IDs/task references/external IDs, separated by commas. There is no limit to the number of tasks that can be updated at once.
If you choose to enter a list of IDs, you can click on “Count” to see how many tasks will be impacted by your update.
In the example above one task was selected in the task list view and will be updated.
Once you defined the task list, you can set the parameters you want to update and click on confirm.
Tasks will be updated and a CSV including the changes will be generated. We highly recommend consulting the CSV file as it will indicate whether a task update was successful or not and in case it wasn’t a reason will be provided.
❗️Please keep in mind that all usual update rules apply and that the bulk can't be used to plan tasks.
2. Date and time window update
You can select a new date to which a task should be set and/or a new time window.
For this type of update, tasks can’t be part of a round.
3. Status update
Select the “Change the status” action in the dialogue box and click on Next. Then select the new status you want to assign to the tasks, based on the type of task: a pick-up or a delivery.
You will be asked for a date when you select a transition towards the following status:
- Delivered (in the case of delivery)
- Delivery failed (in the case of delivery)
- Picked up (in the case of a pickup)
- Pickup failed (in the case of a pickup)
Similarly, you will be asked to provide a reason when you select a transition towards the following status:
- Delivery failed
- Pickup failed
4. Replan a group of tasks
Select the “Replan a task” option and click on Next. You will be asked to enter a date when you wish the tasks to be replanned on and a time window (optional). If you choose to set up a time window, you will also have the possibility to configure a second one (e.i. morning and afternoon)
❗️ If your platform has the planning module activated, replanning shouldn't be applied to tasks belonging to a planning flow.
5. Discard a group of tasks
Once you selected the “Discard a task” option, you will be asked if you want to perform the action even on tasks that are already in a round.
❗️ Once a task is discarded this action cannot be undone.
6. Carrier allocation
If you work with multiple carriers you can choose this option in the dialogue box when you wish to change the carrier that has been allocated to tasks. By choosing None you can remove carriers from tasks.
